Open House and Virtual Meeting for Public Comment on Round Lake Remediation

The U.S. Army invited the public to an open house on July 20 to review and comment on a Proposed Plan to remediate metals- and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)-contaminated sediments in Round Lake in Arden Hills. Army personnel was on hand to respond to questions about the studies related to Round Lake. The Proposed Plan includes dredging contaminated sediments, transferring dredged sediments to an upland processing area for dewatering and stabilization, and disposal of processed sediments at an offsite landfill.  

There were two forums at which to learn about the Proposed Plan and make comments about it—an in-person open house and a virtual meeting, both held on Tuesday, July 20:

Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) Virtual Meeting

The meeting was held virtually through Microsoft Teams. Members of the public interested in attending the virtual meeting should contact Kay Toye at 520-903-4363 or to obtain meeting information and register. Oral comments were accepted at the end of the RAB virtual meeting.

Public comments regarding the Proposed Plan are welcome during the 30-day public comment period of July 9–August 13, 2021. Electronic copies of the Proposed Plan are available for download at You can also make an appointment to obtain a physical copy at the Administrative Record and Information Repository at Arden Hills Army Training Site, 4761 Hamline Avenue North, Arden Hills, MN 55112 by calling 651-282-4420. After the public comment period, the Army will address all comments for the administrative record and will incorporate any significant comments into a revised Proposed Plan.
