Ramsey County is conducting a Park Ordinance Project to review and update their park ordinance. This review includes looking at expanding park access and hours, tobacco use in parks, and alternatives to fines and penalties for violations. These proposed changes would affect all parks managed by Ramsey County, including Tony Schmidt Regional Park in Arden Hills. Although the formal public comment period has ended, residents can learn more about the County's project on the County's Website and also find contact information for the Arden Hills' County Commissioner, Nicole Frethem.
A board of commissioners workshop is scheduled to take place on Nov. 2, 2021, to present community engagement feedback and seek policy direction from Ramsey County commissioners. Following the board workshop, a five-week comment period will open to gather additional resident feedback on the ordinance draft.
