The Community Development Department is responsible for the planning and zoning, economic development, protective inspections, and code enforcement divisions within the City, in order to ensure the orderly and safe development of the City.
The protective inspections division of the department is responsible for all inspections and code enforcement services provided by the City. Inspections are conducted of all building, plumbing, water, sewer, heating, mechanical, electrical construction within the City. The Building Official is also the Code Enforcement Official and is responsible for the enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance and other sections of the City Code.
