Residential Water Efficiency Rebates

As part of a 2024-2026 Water Efficiency Grant Program, through funding from the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment, Arden Hills has partnered with the Metropolitan Council and the Clean Water Land & Legacy Amendment to secure water efficiency rebates for residents. 

Rebate Information

This partnership allows Arden Hills residents to receive a rebate of up to $200 for qualified purchases. Eligible purchases include replacements or upgrades to:

  • Toilets
  • Irrigation controllers
  • Clothes washing machines
  • Dishwashers

Eligibility

Eligible items must be WaterSense or Energy Star certified. Verify certification on the EPA WaterSense website and/or Energy Star website and confirm the logo is visible on the product's packaging. 

Rebates will be paid up to 75% of the pre-tax costs, not to exceed $200 per utility account.  Rebates are available for device cost and its installation only. Owner labor charges are not applicable. 

Other important rebate eligibility items to note:

  • Funding is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. 
  • This is for the replacement of water-saving toilets, irrigation controllers, washing machines, and dishwashers only.
  • New houses and new developments are not eligible for this program.
  • The rebate will appear as a credit on the account holder's utility bill.
  • Cannot be delinquent on water/sewer utility accounts.
  • Limited to one rebate per utility account.
  • Replacement must have been purchased after July 1.
  • Property must be located in the City of Arden Hills.
  • Eligible items must be WaterSense or Energy Star certified.
  • The product must be installed.

Required Documents

The following documents are required when submitting a rebate application:

  • Copies of itemized invoice or receipt included with rebate application. The following must be shown on the receipt or invoice:
    • Purchase date
    • Make and model
    • Pre-tax cost
  • WaterSense or Energy Star documentation or labels must be included
  • Photo of installed device

Apply for Rebate

Complete the rebate application or complete a printed application and return it to City Hall, along with copies of the required documents listed above. The application period begins on July 1, 2024 and runs through June 30, 2026.

This program is provided by funding through the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment. Funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The rebate program has been allocated $10,000 and will close once that amount has been exhausted.
