Miscellaneous and Garage Sales/Boutiques Permits 

Miscellaneous Permits:

Please submit a Miscellaneous Permit application for the following activities:

  • block parties (Night to Unite, etc.) (no fee)
  • 5K running race (requires copy of liability insurance releasing the city from liability (no fee)
  • circuses and carnivals (no fee)
  • concessions stands, itinerant vendors of products or services, and flea markets or tent/sidewalk sales ($50 fee)

Garage & Boutique Sales:

The following requires a special no-fee permit application:

Garage sales are permitted 2 times a year (no longer than 3 days in duration). For questions about the miscellaneous and garage/boutique permits, contact City Hall at 651-792-7800.

Hosting a Food Truck? Arden Hills City-issued licenses and permits no longer necessary.

At its meeting on April 22, the City Council adopted an amendment to City Code removing the previous requirement that food trucks and other mobile food units obtain an Arden Hills City-issued license.  Instead, all food truck vendors operating at an Arden Hills business or private residence must obtain a license from Ramsey County or the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. Please note that even if a vendor has a license with the Minnesota Department of Health, they must still obtain a Ramsey County license (this is a Ramsey County requirement). 

In addition, residents no longer need to obtain a no-fee permit to host a food truck at their property.  Please keep in mind that food trucks cannot park in the street nor in the right-of-way per City Code.  

Information for Mobile Food Units/Food Truck Vendors

Vendors must obtain a mobile food unit/food truck license from Ramsey County or the Minnesota Department of Agriculture in order to operate at any business or private residence located in Arden Hills.   Even if you have a license with the Minnesota Department of Health, you must still obtain the Ramsey County licensure (this is a Ramsey County requirement) in order to operate in Arden Hills.
